In this class, our goal is to enhance vocabulary by reading newspaper and online articles while engaging in discussions together. We will consult as a class to choose articles for the texts, focusing on topics that interest everyone. Topics for the first four meetings are as follows: Week 1: "Kodomo shokudō" grassroots initiatives Week 2: Studio Ghibli Week 3: The history of rāmen Week 4: "Futōkō" issues To understand the level of this B1-3 class, you must be able to answer half of the questions below. Answers are after the questions. The answers can be found after the questions. Additionally, please be aware that discussions on Japanese food culture will include meat and fish dishes. I would also like to highlight that the Japanese language contains gendered elements.
