A pre-test will be sent to you as soon as you enroll. You can send it back to me, and I'll score it for you and give you some tips. After the last class, I'll send you a post-test that you can send back to see how you've improved.Experiencia de clase
GET $10 OFF YOUR FIRST CLASS WITH THE CODE WINKLERR10 The new Digital SAT adapts to the test taker. In the past, each question was worth one point. Now, "easy" questions are worth slightly fewer points than "medium" which are worth slightly fewer points than "hard" questions. In this new adaptive test, students are given a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions in the first module. If the student answers more than 18/33 of those questions correctly, they're giving a second module which is filled with mainly "medium" and "hard" questions. This class is for students to master the most difficult questions in order to achieve the highest possible score. This class is designed for students who have either taken a practice test (or the real test) and received a minimum score of 600 or for students who have taken my How to Master the Digital SAT on-going or semester class (which is open to everyone). For students who have not taken a practice test before, I will message a baseline test which they can send back for their score. ... What to expect: Before class, I will post the slides with tips on how to approach the question types we are discussing that week*. Students are expected to review this information before class. During class, we will spend all of class time on "medium" and "hard" Digital SAT questions, and I will verbally remind students of the tips as we discuss the questions. Each class, we will have only two "medium" questions per question type. The rest of class will include only "hard" questions. After getting 60-90 seconds per question, students will privately message their answers in the Zoom chat. Once I have all of the answers, I will call on a student to explain how to eliminate incorrect answers and be left with the correct one (I will guide them as they explain). After class, I will post supplemental homework. This will include Khan Academy's articles, videos, and practice questions for the "medium" and "hard" questions, as well as any other material I think will help students prepare for the test. ... Schedule: Week of February 11 Central Ideas + Details Text Structure + Purpose Week of February 18 Inferences Command of Evidence Week of February 25 Words in Context Cross-Text Connections Week of March 3 Boundaries Form, Function, Sense Rhetorical Analysis After these four weeks, the schedule begins again with Central Ideas + Details and Text-Structure + Purpose. Each round, there will be new questions. *The slides are the same slides that are used in my How to Master the Digital SAT on-going and semester classes.
