Students will learn about place value and how to represent each number using tens rods & ones cubes. I will be teaching them using a SmartBoard I have made that is interactive and introducing them to Flynn the Ten (Tens rod) and Adriun the One (ones cube). There are printable rods and cubes + mat that can be used to make the lesson interactive or an alternative if you cannot print. -Class Policies- +All class times are approximate: Class length may vary due to student ability and class size. Classes are designed to be no longer than the time allotted. +Late/Missed Class Policy: All courses will begin on time as long as one learner is in the classroom. In the event that no students are in the classroom at the assigned class time, the teacher will leave a message on the discussion board and exit the classroom after 10 minutes. Class recordings are available upon request.

Standard Addressed: 1.NBT.2 Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones.
When finished with both classes, students will be able to identify numbers within 99 by representing them and their place valuing using tens rods and ones cube.

Hello! My name is Victoria Blythe. I am new to Outschool. I plan to teach academic classes for K-3. I am currently a first grade teacher in NC. I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and am currently licensed to teach K-6th grade. I have taught for 7 years in both 1st and 3rd grade. I have a passion for teaching children! I think everyone has a right to an education whether is be academic or hobby based. I am married to my high school sweet heart and have three beautiful children, 2 boys and girl, under the age of 4.
