In this class learners will bake a chocolate-chocolate chip cake, make chocolate fudge frosting with Chef Renee, and together we will practice assembling the cake layers, frost the cake and decorate using different piping techniques.
This is a great class for beginners AND intermediate cake bakers alike, as we will cover a wide range of piping techniques, flavor inclusions, and cake decorating trends. Come with questions, decorating ideas, and favorite Instagram cake posts, and of course a hunger for the most chocolate-y cake around!

Students will be using an oven and a stand mixer or hand mixer for this class, as well as a serrated knife, pastry bags and tips, and a microwave or double boiler for melting chocolate.

My name is Renee Moreno and I love baking AND teaching! I graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a Baking & Pastry Arts degree, and worked in lots of different restaurants before becoming an instructor for Le Cordon Bleu North America. 

One of the things I like best about being a pastry chef is that the world of food is always evolving. There is always a new technique to master, a new recipe to try, and a cool trend to learn about!
