Campamento de Trompeta Nivel 1

In this exciting camp, we will explore the fundamentals of trumpet playing to ensure that each student has all the basic skills they need to set the foundation for a lifetime of playing music. We will begin each of our class meetings together with a short warm-up that will focus on getting our best sound on the trumpet. Once students are warmed up, we will focus on our main subject for the day. The subjects are listed below. I will provide short songs and exercises for learners to practice during the week. We will play them together first, and then learners will get an opportunity to perform individually for the class. No prior musical knowledge/experience is necessary. This class is highly interactive, and students are encouraged to have their video and audio turned on at all times. Please have your own trumpet and mouthpiece for class, and if possible, please bring a few dice (at least 3) for the game on Thursday.

Day 1: holding the Trumpet, making a sound, and breathing, whole notes, and the note C
Day 2: posture, dynamics, half notes, and the notes D and E
Day 3: articulation, quarter notes, and the notes F and G
Day 4: game (please bring a few dice if you can)
Day 5: songs with C, D, E, F, G, and review
