This weekly, ongoing class for kids and teens is designed to help children who struggle with social skills develop a social filter. Students will be presented with social scenarios and comments and they will have to decide if the person should "think it or say it" based on how it may make someone feel. If the scenario is a "think it" scenario then we will discuss what could be a more appropriate comment to make. This activity works on the following social skills: perspective taking, making comments, appropriate responses, inappropriate responses, and inferencing. Week of 7/30 (Week 1) Think It or Say It while out in the community Week of 8/6 (Week 2) Think It or Say It with family and friends Week of 8/13 (Week 3) Think It or Say It during the holidays Week of 8/20 (Week 4) Think It or Say It at school
Metas de aprendizaje
The goal of this class is to help children and teens improve their social filter and understanding of what is a socially approrpriate comment to make as well as when it is appropriate to make comments. Another goal is to help improve a chid's undertanding of emotions of others.
