Teatro - El papel del diseñador teatral

The role of the theatrical designer has always been a cornerstone for storytelling. Designers are responsible for reading, interpreting, and giving life to the playwright’s words through their artistic and collaborative ideas. Whether it be the choice of a character’s jacket fabric, a piece of music to underscore a significant moment in the play, or deciding when the lights dim on a scene, these design choices give the audience a tactile connection to the world of the play and can create strong emotional connections for the viewers. Each week we will investigate a component of design, area of design, or specific design era. Students can expect to learn key foundations of design, engage in creative discussions where they can express their ideas, and design their own work. If you are interested in storytelling and creating unique worlds of your own, this class is for you!
