El proceso de escritura para escritores principiantes: FLEX

This class is designed for very beginner writers. Our stories will only be a few sentences with a matching picture. Learners should have a grasp of writing letters and knowing letter sounds. 
This class has a FLEX class schedule, meaning that this class will not meet for live sections. Instead it will "meet" through posts on the Outschool platform. Posts in the classroom will include pre-recorded lessons, announcements, assignments, and communication between the teacher and parent/learner. Depending on your learner's level/skills parent involvement in the class postings might be needed. 
This FLEX class will be scheduled over 4 weeks. At the start of each week, I will post a prerecorded video lesson, that will be around 20-30 minutes in length. There will still be tons of interaction. 

Together will explore the writing process. I will walk the learners through each step of the process. This class will be structured in the I do, we do, you do format. I will model each step of the writing process and explain how each step is important to the entire process. We will explore how each step expands on the previous steps before. Then I will personally assist learners in completing each process and guide them through with encouragement and suggestions through comments and video posts. At the end of the lessons, learners should be able to recreate each step of the process on their own.

Super Writer Process
 - Think about what you want to write about.
 - Draw a picture.
 - Label the picture.
 - Write your story. 
 - Add details to your picture and story.

Week 1: Learners will be introduced to the writing process. We will brainstorm ideas and come up with a list of ideas we can write 
             about. I will show learners how they need to know about the topic to be able to write about it. 
Week 2: We will draw a picture of what we want to write about. We will learn how the picture should match the topic of the story. We 
              will learn that a drawing does not have to be perfect, but should be realistic. (People are not green. Grass is not purple.) We 
              then will learn to label our pictures. We will put the first sound for each item in our picture (S for sun). 
Week 3: We will write the words for our story. We will make sure the words describe and match the picture. We will work on sounding 
              out words and spelling them by the sounds we hear. We will learn to have spaces between words. 
Week 4: We will go back and learn to add details to our picture and to our writing. We will make sure our sentence starts with a 
              capital letter and ends with a period.
