1 hora por semana. 📝 Homework will be assigned weekly. Given the self-paced nature of this (pre-recorded) class, completion of assignments is required before advancing to subsequent lessons. This ensures that prior content is thoroughly understood as it will be revisited at the beginning of each class. Learners will be able to share their completed assignments through Outschool's messaging system or by posting on the Outschool Classroom. Week 1 - Nature's Calendar: An Introduction to the Seasons 🗓️ Research how different cultures celebrate each season. Create a project (poster, slideshow, or video) highlighting seasonal festivals, holidays, and traditions from around the world. Week 2 - The Science Behind the Seasons 🥼 Research how seasons differ in various parts of the world. Choose two locations (one in each hemisphere) and compare their seasonal patterns. Create a report or presentation on how the seasons are experienced differently in each location. Week 3 - Buzzing Bees & Blooming Trees... It's Spring! 🌷 Research a bird species that migrates in the spring. Create a report or poster illustrating its migration patterns, habitat, and the reasons behind its migration. Week 4 - Sandy Toes & Sunny Smiles... It's Summer! ☀️ Research safety tips and first aid techniques relevant to summer activities like camping or hiking. Create a guidebook or a video demonstrating essential safety practices. Week 5 - Rain Showers & Crunchy Leaves... It's Autumn! 🍂 Set up a simple decomposition experiment by placing various organic materials (leaves, fruit, twigs) in a container and observing how they decompose over time. Document the process with photos and notes. Include an explanation of why decomposers are so important in the ecosystem! Week 6 - Grey Clouds & Snow Days... It's Winter! ❄️ Choose an animal from a list of creatures that hibernate during the cold, winter months. Research and explain the process of hibernation in animals. Present your findings in a video presentation. Make sure to describe how its body changes and why hibernation is crucial for its survival!Evaluación
💻 Diagnostic questioning is used at the the start of the course. This is where specific questions are used to assess students' prior knowledge, understanding and misconceptions about a topic before instruction begins. 📋Formative (on-going) assessment are conducted throughout the duration of the course. Weekly quizzes are administered in class to assess student understanding of the material. In order to cater to all learner needs, these quizzes range from multiple choice, 'fill in the blank', matching, true or false and written questions.Experiencia de clase

📚 Content Summary 📚 Immerse yourself into the captivating world of weather in this exciting online class! From the scorching heat of summer to the chill of winter, learners will embark on a journey to explore the fascinating phenomenas that define our seasons. Each week, students will discover the science behind weather patterns, the impact of seasonal changes on plants and animals, changes in day length, and the remarkable ways in which weather influences our world . Through multimedia lessons, engaging discussions, projects, weekly quizzes and assigned tasks, students of all learning preferences and abilities will be able to access and engage with the content of this course. All of my science classes plan in opportunities for students to develop 'Working Scientifically Skills'. Thes refers to the skills of: 1. Comparative & fair testing 2. Identifying, classifying & grouping 3. Pattern seeking 4. Researching 5. Problem solving 🚨Please note: this course follows the UK Primary National Curriculum and the objectives outlined in their 'Seasonal Changes' science unit. In our upcoming "The Wonders of Weather: A Journey Through the Seasons!" course, we aim to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for your little learner. As part of our curriculum, our clas on Week 3 titled "Spring Awakening: Nature’s Grand Rebirth," explores the various changes that occur in nature during the spring season. This includes a discussion on how the season affects animal behavior and will mention on the mating and breeding habits of different animals.
We understand that the topic of animal mating and breeding can be sensitive.
