El Maravilloso Mundo de Studio Ghibli - Curso de Dibujo Anime

In this magical weekly anime art class we will learn how to draw different characters from the Studio Ghibli universe! We will create many different animals, creatures and characters such as No-Face, Calcifer, Chihiro, Soot Sprites and more! Studio Ghibli has made many iconic anime movies such as Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Ponyo, Howls Moving Castle, Kikis Delivery Service, Arrietty and Princess Mononoke - to name a few! We will learn one new drawing each week, diving into these fantastic Japanese anime movies and recreating them at home. 

Don't worry if you don't know the characters - in each lesson we will watch a short clip of these creatures in action in the anime movie they belong to. This is a great way to introduce the characters and get everyone excited about learning how to draw them. We will then go through easy step by step instructions on how to draw these anime style characters with discussion throughout about anime, manga, Studio Ghibli and drawing. This class will be great for students to practice drawing anime characters in various styles pulling different expressions and in different poses, with changing outfits, designs and personalities! I like to use slides to demonstrate how to draw and give a brief background about where the characters come from and what their characteristics are. My teaching style is very enthusiastic and I like to encourage my students by praising what they are doing well and sensitively pointing out where they could improve. The best way to learn is through doing and so my lesson will be very interactive and engaging. The students will need some plain paper and coloured pens or pencils, including the colour black. They are also welcome to use paints also if they would like to colour in with those. No required experience or knowledge is needed for this class. Just a joy and curious attitude about art, anime and how to draw! 

Once we get to the last character the class will loop back round and start from there so each student gets a chance to draw them all no mater where you start! Do send me a message if you wish to know which character we are currently on.
