La saga Wingfeather, libro 2: ¡Hacia el norte o ser devorado!

Tarea
2-4 horas por semana. Learners will need to complete the reading before each class (8 chapters). During class we will begin filling in the notebook, but that will need to be completed after class. Expect 2-3 hours of homework each week (depending on how quickly they read).
Evaluación
Learners will be encourage to participate in the group discussion and to share their creative writing from the binder, but no formal assessment will be given.

If you have read the first Wingfeather Book: On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness it is time to read North! Or Be Eaten. This 4 week class meets twice a week to discuss this exciting book. Along with discussing the book, we will be making a timeline of events and learning reading strategies like visualizing the text, making connections, learning how to use context cues, predicting, making inferences and summarizing. You will need to read 8 chapters before class to be ready for the class discussion. During class we will talk about what we read, review vocabulary, have a lesson about a reading strategy and fill in our notebook. The notebook will be a combination of vocabulary, creative writing, and drawing.

Final project options:
-Design a Movie Poster for the movie
-Create a top 10 soundtrack: Out of all of the events on the timeline we created in class, which events do you think are the most important, choose a song as the soundtrack for each event. 
-Write an interview with one of the characters

Each learner will need their own copy of the Wingfeather Saga: North! Or Be Eaten and a binder with the class printouts. Printouts will be provided in the classroom the Sunday before class begins.
