What does each of our body systems do? Why do we need vitamins? What is inside my ear? Can your eyes be fooled? Come find out the answers as we explore the human body using observation and hands-on experiments. This class is designed to offer a complete semester worth of in-depth Human Anatomy information. Along the way, students will compile a keepsake notebook of science information. The class will begin with an informative slide show about the body system we are studying and an open mic for Q&A.
*Each week a new topic is introduced
* Students will receive information on how to implement hands-on experiments and activities that relate to our lesson.
*Science vocabulary words will be added to our Science Notebook each week.
* Every class will have directions with printable sheets for homework to be completed.
*This is an interactive class and students will be sharing some of their completed homework.
*Online quiz games will be used to review content.
*No previous background knowledge is needed, only a love for learning!

Students will learn via PowerPoint presentations, videos, printable worksheets, discussion, and assigned homework. There may be (depending on interest) a cow eye dissection that students may choose to participate in at home while I guide them through in a live session.

Metas de aprendizaje
Students will be able to answer questions about each of the human body systems. Students will be supplied with tests to take at home on Human Anatomy. Engaging discussion and hands on experiences will deepen the students knowledge of the human body. Students will need to have various household items on hand. Some experiments require items to be purchased but participation is always optional. Several different activities for each lesson will be offered to give parents a variety of hands-on experiences to choose from. Directions and print outs will be provided each week.

I have been teaching for over ten years and am currently teaching life science to 3rd and 4th-grade students. My bachelors degree is in Early Childhood Education and I teach Life Science to 3rd-4th grade students at a home-school co-op.. I love the inquisitive mind and these ages of exploration! Following the a hands-on approach to learning, students will complete assignments outside the home and share projects with peers via the online classroom. I will equip your student to expand their thinking in creative ways, appreciate the diversity of life, expand their scientific vocabulary, and ignite curiosity.
