This one-time biology course is all about the evolution of the horse. Horses have a rich fossil record and are often used as a classic example of evolution. We will explore the last 55 million years of horse evolution from its earliest ancestors to the modern horse and the factors that likely led to these changes. We will also discuss some more recent findings and how they have affected our interpretation. At the beginning of class, learners may introduce themselves and I will give an introduction on the topic. I will be using a slide presentation with diagrams and pictures to clearly present the material. I encourage questions and discussions during the class. I want students to have fun and be inspired, but still walk away with accurate scientific information. No prior knowledge is required for this class. Learners should just bring their enthusiasm and love for learning about science.
