Students will delve into the sinister plot, uncovering the chilling tale of revenge and betrayal that unfolds in the eerie catacombs. Through dramatic reenactments we’ll explore Poe’s masterful use of irony, foreshadowing, and gothic elements. By experiencing this short story as a performance, learners have the opportunity to better understand it given that many of Poe's short stories were written to be heard not necessarily just read.  The self paced lesson is broken into four smaller sub lessons with discussion questions and some vocabulary highlights.
