The class will be structured through a series of guided questions that each student can choose to either answer or pass on. The questions will cover a wide range that will aide in student comprehension of the text including questions on characters, plot, setting and the movie versus the books. PowerPoint will be utilized to present the questions. An open discussion will follow the guided questions. The class will conclude with a trivia contest where students will be asked True/False and multiple choice questions on the book series.

Hi! My name is Ms. Amanda and I was born to teach. I have two younger sisters and when I was little, I would play teacher with them all the time. As a child, I even taught my sister Sam how to read. I love reading and Harry Potter is my all-time favourite series (yes that is how you spell favourite in Canada).
Now that I am all grown up, I have had the pleasure to teach everything from Pre Kindergarten to grade 6, Adult Basic Education and college level courses. I was even the Principal and Student Support Teacher of a small school for a few years! I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, a BEd, a Masters of Science in Education with a specialist in reading and literacy and am currently a Doctoral Candidate.
I believe that all students can learn when the teacher recognizes student choice and multiple intelligences, and when strong relationships are fostered through listening and sharing. This will develop a lifelong love of learning.
I can't wait to virtually meet my students from across the continent!
