Experiencia de clase

The 1st Amendment gives us the right to 'assemble', but what does that really mean?

In this brief, one-time class, students will get a thorough and ever-important lesson on the 1st amendment, what it says, laws related to it, and how to use it properly to protest or demonstrate. Students will learn what protestors legal rights are, as well as the legal rights of law enforcement during a protest. The purpose is to help students understand everyone's legal rights during a protest or demonstration.

Throughout class, we will use PowerPoint slides, take live polls, Q&A's, and more to demonstrate understanding of the material and get students engaged and thinking! No prior knowledge is necessary to take this course.

Metas de aprendizaje

Students will gain a clear understanding of the basic legal rights and responsibilities for everyone under the 1st amendment. Class will be taught from a Constitutional, legal, and factual perspective.
