In this interactive one-time course, learners will learn the basics of self-advocacy and how to speak up for what they need in school and in life.  Students will also learn why self-advocacy is important and learn ways to self-advocate. The goal of this course is to provide an engaging and positive environment for students to discover ways to speak up and communicate their needs to others. 

During this course, learners will be able to: 
-Define self-advocacy and understand the importance of self-advocacy in school 
-Identify the four basic components of self-advocacy 
-Demonstrate self-advocacy skills through role-play and/or application-based activities.  

Learners will have the opportunity to explore these topics through mini-lectures, interactive games, discussions, and/or video clips.
