Campamento de arte de verano 2024: Campamento de arte de caligrafía falsa, letras a mano y dibujo

In this 3-day Summer Camp, we will learn modern faux calligraphy techniques to hand-letter and draw three unique and creative art pieces. This is a great summer camp for all artists, from beginner to advanced!

Day One: For our first day together, we will learn the basics of modern faux calligraphy and apply these skills in the following days of summer camp. Next, we will create a "Hello Summer" drawing, with color, faux calligraphy letters and popsicle lettering, as well as add some summer themed embellishments (sun glasses, a life saver floaty, a beach ball, shell, and watermelon). Students can add whatever else they’d like, or change their drawing to adapt to their preferences. I’ve had students add surf boards, pineapple, a coconut drink, beach chairs, and more!

Day 2: On our second day, we'll draw a vibrant colored landscape, complete with flowers, a cat, and a butterfly. We’ll use faux calligraphy to letter: "Life is PRRR-fect” in the center of our page. We like puns around here! We’ll use a two-tone technique inside the downstrokes of our letters to add dimension and character to our art piece.

Day 3: On our final day, we'll draw a glass globe bottle with waves and a paper sailboat. We’ll use a stippling technique to add shade and color to our waves. Lastly, we'll hand-letter "Let’s sail away" on the front, and use a fading technique within our letters for a cool effect. Shadowing and coloring will be our final step for this class!

These three art pieces are taken from my Ongoing Weekly Hand-Lettering and Drawing Class. This is a great camp for students to learn new hand-lettering techniques, including faux calligraphy, and use their drawing and coloring skills. 

Students will be guided step-by-step and given creative liberty to change and adapt their compositions as we draw together. 

Card stock is preferred (but not required) for this class as we’re aiming to create a sturdy wall-art piece. Students can also choose color options they prefer most. 

***Please note, some students may not have time to finish coloring their picture in class depending on their optimal drawing speed. I will work at a steady pace and frequently gage where students are at during the lesson. It is my goal to help them finish their drawing, but sometimes this doesn’t allow for coloring completion before class is over. Thank you for understanding.***
