Success in college (and beyond!) depends on a student's ability to be an independent learner, but many students graduate from high school not ready for the transition. Set yourself up for success in high school and college by developing research-based skills for lifelong learning. Together we will explore topics such as setting goals, managing time, note-taking, reading textbooks and other academic texts, studying and preparing for tests, joining (or creating) a study group, and managing focus and attention. Each class will include specific tips and strategies that students can implement right away, activities to help them reflect on the information and solidify their learning, and opportunities to share, discuss, and collaborate. Slides will be posted after each session and will remain available for students to reference.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will set long-range personal and academic goals and create strategies to achieve them.
Students will learn tips and strategies for managing their time and create a plan for building strong habits in the upcoming school year.

My specialty is working with students who are preparing for or experiencing a transition (from middle school to high school, from high school to college, etc.)
