- Students will set long-range personal and academic goals and create strategies to achieve them.
- Students will learn tips and strategies for managing their time and create a plan for building strong habits in the upcoming school year.
- Students will learn tips and strategies for effective note-taking and practice taking notes in a style that works for them.
- Students will learn strategies for reading academic texts and processing information to build understanding.
- Students will learn common mistakes and misconceptions about studying as well as how to implement effective study strategies.
- Students will learn how to identify problems with focus and attention and create strategies for maintaining focus on learning.
Over twenty years in the classroom, I’ve worked with students in both whole class and 1:1 settings to develop executive functioning skills such as time management and task initiation as well as academic skills like note-taking and test preparation. My specialty is working with students who are preparing for or experiencing a transition (from middle school to high school, from high school to college, etc.)
