Meet the Strong Family! Together, they use their super powers to create clear and vivid images in the reader’s mind. In this one-time, live, interactive class, we explore the powers of the adjective, noun, and verb, and how they have the power to create images in the reader's mind. TEACHING STYLE: In this beginner course, learners will engage in an interactive, colorful powerpoint presentation and discussion where they will create their own strong sentences by learning about the Strong family and the spectacular parts of speech, specifically adjectives, nouns, and verbs. Students will be encouraged to participate in discussions, answer questions during class time, and share their own strong sentences. COURSE DESCRIPTION: A BEGINNER foundational* course to writing strong sentences * For younger students, this might be the first time they are hearing these terms and parts of speech, while for older children, this could be a good foundational review. The pace of the class is determined by the ability of the class as a whole, so please message me if you have questions or concerns if this is the right level class for your child. • By knowing and building on three of the 8 parts of speech, learners will string words into strong and powerful sentences using adjectives, nouns, and verbs. • Through a fun, colorful slide show with super hero images, learners will will be introduced and build on their understanding of adjectives, nouns, and verbs. • Through class participation, learners will build on their understanding of these words and their role in sentence structure. • Learners will write detailed and descriptive sentences that paint a picture in the reader's mind. TEACHING POINTS • Meet the Strong family and learn how they can use their super powers to create pictures in your mind. • Introduction to NOUNS, VERB, ADJECTIVES and practice identifying each part of speech. • Learn what makes a sentence (subject and predicate,) and the basic adjective, noun, verb sentence structure. • Create strong sentences using the Strong Sentence worksheets and materials provided with the class. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: • Learners should be able to write with a pencil, but it's not 100% necessary for this class. • Should have a good understanding of the spoken english language. • Perfect spelling and punctuation is not necessary. • Learner may need homework assistance from parents.

** I do my best to engage all learners in the class regardless of their abilities, however I understand some students can be a little more shy in a one-time class. Please encourage your learner to participate. The more participation a student has in class, the better he or she will understand the concepts being taught.

My love of writing started when I was 8 years old and hasn't stopped.
I'm a published author (fiction and nonfiction,) writing teacher, homeschooler, and tutor who's worked with gifted and struggling kids for over 20 years. I saw a gap and a need when it came to writing because children didn't have a basic knowledge of parts or speech, sentence structure, or paragraph writing. I developed a program with fun techniques to engage them to write powerful and sometimes silly sentences. The techniques seemed to work with kids who loved writing as well as those who didn't. I'm excited to bring my program online to an even bigger audience.
