This class is over eight weeks, with each session lasting 45 minutes.
1.Weekly sessions: The class meets once a week providing consistent engagement with the story and allowing time for reflection and personal reading between sessions.

2.Interactive Discussions: Each session begins with a group discussion focused on specific chapters or themes from Charlotte's Web. These discussions help students understand the text explore character motivations, and analyze key events.

3.Creative Activities: After the discussions, students participate in creative activities like drawing, writing or crafting. These activities reinforce what they've learned and allow them to express their understanding in fun imaginative ways.

4.Engaging Games: Every session includes a game or interactive element related to the book, such as character charades, word games, or scavenger hunts. These games make learning enjoyable and help solidity key concepts.

5.Focus on learning outcomes: Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on what the students are learning and why it matters. Students are encouraged to connect the story's themes and lessons to their own lives, helping them see the value of their learning.

6.Reflection and goal setting: At the start of the course students set personal learning goals and the final session focuses on reflecting on what they've learned as how they've grown as readers.

My teaching style:
In Story Explorers my teaching style is inspired by the Charlotte Mason philosophy, which sees each child as a capable and curious learner. Here is how I approach teaching:

1. Child-Centered learning-I believe that children thrive when they take ownership of their learning. In this class, your child will have the freedom to explore ideas and topics that interest them, encouraging a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
2. Interactive and engaging-I use a blend of discussion, narration, and creative activities to help students connect with the story on a deeper level. This hands-on approach makes learning both meaningful and fun.
3.Focused and respectful-Lessons are kept short and focused to respect your child's natural attention span. I aim to cultivate good habits of attention, reflection, and self-expression, helping your child grow as a thoughtful reader.
4. Supportive and encouraging-I provide gentle guidance, creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued and confident in sharing their thoughts and ideas.

MY GOAL IS TO INSPIRE YOUR CHILD TO LOVE READING, THINK CRITICALLY, AND TAKE JOY IN THEIR LEARNING JOURNEY.

Hello Friends,
My name is Ivonne Lopez but you can call me Mrs. Lopez! I am super excited to be a part of Outschool! I am very excited to get to meet you, teach you and get to know you!

I live in Lubbock, Texas with my husband and four daughters. I was born in Mexico and my first language is Spanish and I am very happy that I still get to practice and use this beautiful language in my everyday life with my family and even with my daughters!

I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and I am certified to be able to teach bilingual classes in the schools. I have taught in the public schools and online platform for over 6 years now and have been able to improve my skills in teaching by getting to interact and teach kids from 3-15 years old!

I have regained my love for reading through being a homeschool mom and getting the opportunity to read beautiful stories to my children. I truly believe that reading gives you the opportunity to travel to other worlds and become a part of that world even if it just for that little while. Reading has given me so many opportunities to share with others as well that have a passion for reading and discover different genres too!

I have taught students how to read, how to hold a book, letters, letter recognition, numbers, number recognition, colors, shapes, rhyming, reading comprehension, writing in a journal, learning how to speak in complete sentences and so much more!!

But most importantly at the end of all this I have seen students regain their confidence and their love for learning through reading!

Teaching is my passion! Reading is my passion! Education and learning is just a big part of my life and I love that I get to instill the love of lifelong learning to others!!

I enjoy encouraging students to learn and have a passion for learning! Learning is all around us and we can learn something new every single day!

I want you to always love to learn and become a lifelong learner by learning from others always!!

I homeschool my daughters and plan to do so for a very long time. I know that everyone has different style of learning and a very unique journey. I want to be able to bring and show my passion for teaching to every single class so you feel empowered to learn.
