Do you want to know how to create a stop motion studio video? Join us in class for in-depth training to create a stop motion video. Your child will leave class understanding how to create a stop motion studio video and edit their video. They will learn how to navigate the application and learn key skills to be proficient at creating with the app. Most importantly, they will have fun!

***This class is only for 6 and 7-year-olds. 

Important Information: This class is much easier for students when using a second device. The easiest device is an iPad or iPhone. However, if your child is taking the class with a computer and is trying to use the Stop Motion on that same device, they will need another camera. Please be sure to install the app before class.

Class 1: This class will consist of learning about the Stop Motion Studio Pro app. We will discuss storyboards and learn the basics of taking our photos. We will learn how to take our photos, set our frames per second, use the timer, and other fun app features.

Suggested Homework: Students will be encouraged to keep creating their stop motion video after class. Students should have several photos for day two, so they will be ready to edit their video.

Class 2: This class will consist of more in-depth training using the Start Motion Studio Pro app. This is also an excellent time to learn how to edit your video. You will be showing through screen share in real-time how to edit. Specific topics include layers, fonts, backgrounds, faces, and more!

Suggested Homework: Students will be encouraged to work on their video outside of class to continue shooting their photos and editing their video. Would you please come to class prepared? Please write down any questions you have to ask them in class, or send them to our classroom for me to answer.

Class 3: In this class, you will learn about more editing features and how to use them in your movie creations. We will finish our movies and review the material to become more confident in understanding how to edit videos. Students will complete their video and ask any questions that they may have about how to do something within the app. Students will be encouraged to share their stop motion videos with the class. However, it is not required.

Important Information: This class needs a second device. The easiest device is an iPad or iPhone.

PLEASE NOTE:   Students will need the Stop Motion Studio Pro App INSTALLED before class. The paid version has more features. If you choose to have the free version, your child will learn about the other options available, but they will not use them in the free version. We will not cover all the settings in the app (ex., green screen or more advanced editing). It is also essential to have a second device to create their video and still participate easily with the class.

Students will need to have the Stop Motion Animation Studio Pro version of the app. The app can be found listed in the class resources. This app does cost extra.
