After taking the one-time British accent class, come and learn to speak in a British accent with a professional actress in this weekly ongoing class. I performed in several plays in England (when I lived there for ten years, working in the professional theatre) with my British accent. When I spoke to some of the audience members after the show, they couldn’t believe I was American, “why are you speaking with an American accent?” they asked. And I said, “I am American, I was doing a British accent.” And they couldn’t believe it. I’m going to teach you how to speak like a Brit in this interactive class. So come along and learn and have everyone think you’re British. Important: please be prepared to participate in this interactive class so that I can help you perfect your British accent! In each class, we will start with vocal warm ups and then we will practice the unique sounds and phrases of the British accent. Finally, we will practice speaking our brilliant accent with rhymes, scenes and monologues. ADDITIONALLY, OVER THIS ONGOING COURSE, WE WILL DISCUSS IN OUR BRITISH ACCENTS ONE TOPIC PER WEEK: * Week of Nov. 1st--British customs * Week of Nov. 8th--British holidays * Week of Nov. 15th--British food * Week of Nov. 22nd--British maps/landmarks * Week of Nov. 29th--British animals * Week of Dec. 6th--Unique British sports * Week of Dec. 13th--British history * Week of Dec. 20th--British people * Week of Dec. 27th--British knock-knock jokes * Week of Jan 3rd--British music * Week of Jan. 10th--British plants/flowers/trees * Week of Jan. 17th-- British celebrations * Week of Jan. 24th--British musicals * Week of Jan. 31st--British castles * Week of Feb. 7th--British kings & queens * Week of Feb. 14th--British comedies * Week of Feb. 21st--British posh words * Week of Feb. 28th--British authors * Week of Mar. 7th--British films * Week of Mar. 14th--TV shows * Week of Mar. 21st--British royal family part 1 * Week of Mar. 28th--British royal family part 2 * Week of Apr. 4th--British teas * Week of Apr. 11th--British art * Week of Apr. 18th--British transportation *This is an ongoing class, meeting once a week, and every week we discuss a new topic. There are no prerequisites for any classes, meaning you do not need to take them in any order. You may take one class or all of the classes, however many you choose. Try it out and see and if your child would like to keep practicing then he/she can continue. You may cancel your weekly subscription anytime, and then resubscribe if/when you need to.

Hello Students!
My name is Christina. I am half Spanish and half American. I live in Los Angeles. I grew up traveling the world. I lived in Germany for 6 years as a child. I speak Spanish. I am a former pre-school and elementary school teacher with over 10 years experience who taught in the US, Spain and England.
My teaching philosophy is based in the Reggio Emilia approach, which is an educational philosophy and pedagogy focusing on student-centered and constructivist self-guided curriculum that uses self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven environments. Reggio Emilia approach is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration, discovery and play.
I love teaching. The things I love teaching the most are making up a story and acting it out, how to speak in a British accent, play acting in a British accent, and moving and acting to music, as well as Spanish and Shakespeare.
I am an actress in LA. In LA, have been on network TV shows such as Good Trouble, American Housewife, Transparent and Criminal Minds. In London, I have extensive professional theatre experience. I performed in many Shakespearean plays such as The Merry Wives of Windsor, Macbeth, The Winter’s Tale, As You Like It, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, to name a few as well as several Oscar Wilde plays, Restoration plays such as The Country Wife, and contemporary plays such as The Shape of Things and Three Birds Alighting on a Field along many others.
I have my teacher's certification for pre-school and elementary school with an ESL endorsement. I also have a double BA in English Literature and Anthropology from the University of Virginia. I graduated from Drama Studio London, in the UK where I was awarded the Peter Howitt scholarship. I also attended RADA in London.
I love to instill confidence, leadership, community, creativity and fun in all of my classes. Learn with me and we will have fun and you will learn skills that you will remember forever. My fluffy cat Bongo might join us too!
