In "Sparkle & Shine: DIY Glitter Ornaments with Cricut," you'll learn how to design, cut, and apply vinyl designs to create a beautiful, personalized glitter ornament. This includes: Designing in Cricut Design Space to create your own custom ornament designs. Use the Cricut machine to cut vinyl and personalize their ornaments. Weeding vinyl to remove excess material from your design. Applying glitter for an extra touch of sparkle. Assembling your ornament with the vinyl design and glitter for a finished, holiday-ready piece. What topics will you cover? Basic navigation in Cricut Design Space (how to design your project) Setting up and using a Cricut machine (loading the vinyl, cutting designs) Weeding and applying vinyl to the ornament Glitter techniques (how to apply and seal glitter for a shiny effect) Ornament assembly (putting it all together and finishing touches like bows) How is your online class structured? Introduction & Overview: I'll start the class with a brief introduction, explaining the project and what we'll be creating. I'll share examples of ornaments to inspire students and get them excited. Step 1: Glitter Application I’ll show how to apply glitter to the ornament, explaining the different steps for a clean, sparkly look. Students will get to choose what color they want to use. Step 2: Designing in Cricut Design Space I’ll guide students through Cricut Design Space, where they will create their ornament design. I'll show how to select fonts, images, and how to size the design for the ornament. Students can ask questions as they design, and I'll provide feedback. Step 3: Cricut Machine Setup & Cutting I'll demonstrate how to set up the Cricut machine, load the vinyl, and start cutting. Students will follow along, setting up their Cricut machines at home, and I'll be available to troubleshoot any issues. Step 4: Weeding Vinyl & Applying Design Once the vinyl is cut, I’ll demonstrate how to weed it and apply transfer tape to the design. Students will practice weeding their own designs, and I’ll give tips on how to avoid common mistakes. Step 5: Ornament Assembly & Final Touches The final step will be putting everything together! Students will apply their vinyl to the ornament and finish off with any additional decorative elements like bows. Wrap-Up & Q&A At the end of the class, I’ll answer any remaining questions and review key points. Students will be invited to share their finished ornaments in the class chat, and I’ll offer feedback. How will you teach? Live Demonstrations: I'll use screen sharing to show Cricut Design Space and the Cricut machine setup. I’ll also demonstrate live how to weed and apply vinyl. Interactive Walkthroughs: Students will work on their designs in real-time while I walk them through each step. I’ll help troubleshoot and give personalized advice during the class. What’s your teaching style? My teaching style for online classes is engaging and supportive. I love fostering a fun, creative environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas. I break down each process into clear, manageable steps, and I'm hands-on with troubleshooting, offering live feedback as students work. I aim to keep the atmosphere positive, interactive, and motivating, so students can feel confident and inspired. How much will learners get to interact with you? Live Lecture & Demonstration: The majority of the class will be spent demonstrating each step, with lots of interaction during the process. I’ll ask questions to keep students engaged, and students will be encouraged to share ideas. Real-Time Assistance: As students work on their projects, I’ll be available to answer questions via live chat or voice. I’ll offer troubleshooting tips and feedback while they cut, weed, and apply vinyl.

Cricut Machine Safety:
Sharp Blades: The Cricut machine uses a sharp blade to cut vinyl.
Sharp Picks and Blades: The weeding tools (small, sharp picks) used to remove excess vinyl can cause injury if handled carelessly. Supervise your child closely when they are using these tools to ensure they don’t accidentally poke themselves or others.
Glitter: Glitter can be messy and should be kept out of reach of younger children to avoid accidental ingestion or contact with eyes. Supervise glitter application to prevent it from spilling around the crafting area.
