In this beginner level course, students will learn numbers 11-20 in Spanish (more... if time allows)! We will spend five minutes of our class introducing ourselves and talking about our favorite super heroes, a few minutes review numbers 1-10 and then move on to numbers 11-20. The lesson will be taught using a Powerpoint presentation. Each slide will include pictures of Superheroes and numbers. We will spend time on each slide counting the number of Superheroes, continuing to build on the knowledge from the previous slides. Students will have a chance to practice while I check for understanding. At the end of our time together, we will play a game to help ensure their new knowledge of Spanish numbers has taken root! It will be a fun and face-paced course. My goal as their teacher will be to have them engaged, learning and laughing throughout class! *This course can be taken as a follow-up course for Spanish Numbers (1-10) or as a stand alone class if you want your student to focus on numbers 11-20.*

The goal of this class is to learn the Spanish numbers, 11-20. However, based upon the class, we will try and learn more! To accomplish this goal, we will have a lot of fun counting some of our favorite superheroes and have a reinforcement activity. I want to ensure your student has a lot of fun and that this class makes them desire to learn even more Spanish!

Hello! My name is Joseph Haefs. I am a husband and father of two amazing kids. I work for an amazing, non-profit organization that serves in 37 countries around the world. I have been fortunate to work for them while living in Costa Rica, Peru and am currently based out of the United States. My new role has me traveling all over the world with groups from the U.S. to partner with our in-country national leaders. We work with kids, do construction, host medical clinics and much more. It has been my joy to do this kind of work, especially working with kids!
Prior to working for this non-profit, I worked with students for a few years in South Georgia and before that, I worked for the Sheriff's Office while finishing my degrees. I have degrees in both History and Religious Studies, as well as a Spanish certificate from the Spanish Language Institute.
I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and enjoy all things related to fitness.
I love all things outdoors as well as fitness. On any given weekend, you might find my family: hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, or relocating snakes for my neighbors. My other passion is music. I play the guitar, bass guitar, piano and drums.
In the classroom, my goal is to always create a relaxed atmosphere, promoting ample time for discussion and an opportunity for each student's voice to be heard.
My class offerings include beginner level Spanish courses for learners from 3-8 years old as well as Superhero themed exercise classes.
Fun facts about me: I have lived in 3 countries and visited many more. I have had several interesting hobbies: ATV racing, bull riding and snake catching are just a few. Visiting Antarctica is on my bucket list (but not my wife's... so, that probably will not happen).
