Spanish Immersion is a series of classes that includes learning Spanish through immersion which includes vocabulary through conversation, an interactive powerpoint presentation, drawings, and songs.  Some examples of what students will be introduced to are the names of the colors in Spanish, the 29 letters of the Spanish alphabet, how to say the names of some foods in Spanish and how to say the names of animals in Spanish and many more other topics. 

The class will start with introducing myself and having students introduce themselves to the class.  I will give couple of classroom participation expectations in English.  We will then move on to reviewing what we have learned in prior lessons.  I will first model how to pronounce words in Spanish and then have the students repeat after me.  I will always give students sentence starters to help them formulate their own thoughts.  Students will be paired with one another student for extra interaction and to get that extra practice of speaking in Spanish while using supports such as myself, sentence starters and/or powerpoint.  I will speak in Spanish and translate in English only when students need translation.  I believe that students pick up Spanish when they listen to Spanish repeatedly.  We will follow along using a powerpoint that consist of visuals to help students gain the vocabulary that is being taught and we will also hear songs in Spanish.  At the end of the lesson we will review.  These classes are for those students who want to learn Spanish and are open to having a teacher that speaks only in Spanish to them. 

* For Week 1: Students will learn how to introduce themselves 
* For Week 2: Students will learn days of the week and the seasons
* For Week 3: Students will learn numbers 1-10 and months of the year.
* For Week 4: Students will learn how to say family member name vocabulary words and play a memory game using vocabulary.
* For Week 5: Students will learn colors and play a scavenger game

**** Please note that the class will be taught 90% in Spanish.    
 
*** Please note that while immersion seems kind of overwhelming, the more a students hears the language the faster students are able to pick up on the language.
