*** During the Summer Months of July and August 2022, ALL One-time classes will be temporarily reduced *** ***Please note that there is no need to have any prior knowledge of Spanish to take this class*** ***If you don’t see a displayed time that works for you or see any upcoming classes posted, you are welcome to contact me or based on my availability please feel free to request one and a section will automatically be created!*** Spanish for Kiddos - Learn mi Familia (8-12 Years Old) Family, we all have one. They are made up of many members and many generations. This class is designed to aid your child to learn to be able to identify the different members of the family including immediate and extended family all in Spanish! The goal of this class as well is to have a fun, interactive environment where learning Spanish will happen naturally. With my personalized help and guidance each student will have the ability to learn the names in Spanish of the immediate and extended members of the family and using short sentences to express themselves. Also, with the utilization of activities, games, pictures, visual aids, props and talk time these will all facilitate your child having fun while at the same time learning a foreign language. This class is part of my series called “Spanish for Kiddos” where through a variety of topics your child will join me on the wonderful journey of learning Spanish. ¡Vámonos! (Let’s go!) During class your child will have lots of opportunities to participate and at the same time listen respectfully to others. Below are just a sample of some of the things that will covered in the lesson. Sample Immediate Family Members Wordlist: Dad, Mom, Brother/son, Sister/daughter etc. Sample Extended Family Members Wordlist: Grandparents, Cousin, Nephew, Aunt, Uncle etc. Sample Classroom Questions and answers: -How many people are in your family? -I have ___ __________(s) in my family. -Who is he/she? -He/she is my __________. -Who are they? -They are my __________. -He/she is my favorite __________. Game/Activity: Name that family member

Parents are encouraged (not required) to be present during the "review" portion of the class for their child to demonstrate the vocabulary they just learnt in class in Spanish.

An optional one-page excel sheet with a list of the family members discussed in class and a few sentences is attached for your child to keep to practice before, during and/or after class.

¡Hola! Hello! My name is Le Schawn Ward from Canada, welcome parents and learners to my Outschool profile/bio.
Here on Outschool we are encouraged to teach what we are passionate about, not only IS Spanish one of my passions but also teaching and helping others is too.
Regardless of the subject, learning level or ability, my motto is: If you’re not having fun then you’re not learning! That is what you can expect for your child in ALL my classes, they will enjoy themselves while learning.
Helping others has always been something that brings me a lot of inner joy, so I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity on Outschool to combine my love for Spanish and with helping others to learn and to speak one of the most spoken and popular languages in the world!
Now let’s get down to the ‘nitty-gritty’. I have my bachelor's degree in Education, minoring in Language Education, hold both a TEFL and TESOL certification, have a background in theatre arts, TV and commercials and I am completely fluent speaking and writing Spanish. I also have extensive public speaking skills, having done so in front of crowds of over 3,000+ people!
Since 2002, I have been teaching children, youth and adults alike. In an online setting since 2018 I have been teaching children from ages 3-16 and to date have completed over 7,500 online classes totaling over 18,500 students! In my volunteer educational work, I have been teaching people of all different ages in Spanish since 2007.
Now that the ‘nitty-gritty is out of the way, I can’t wait to meet your child/children and let the fun begin!
