Español 1 con Profe Café – Principiante

Bienvenidos al curso 1 de español para principiantes. (Welcome to the Online Spanish 1 Class for Beginners!)

This interactive and engaging course is designed to introduce you to the basics of Spanish. Whether you have little to no prior knowledge of the language or want to refresh your skills, this course will help you build the confidence in understanding and using basic Spanish.

The course is a novice level Spanish class for students who have never taken a Spanish course before. Students will learn the building blocks to the language through listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish. This class meets once a week for 10 weeks. Novice learners will be exposed to Spanish throughout the lesson and English will be used for comprehension checks and instructions for activities. 


Lesson 1: Greetings (Students will be able to start a conversation and introduce themselves.  
Lesson 2: Cognates  (Students will be able to identify words in Spanish  that look like and sound like English words)
Lesson 3: How are you? (Students will be able to ask and answer the question how are you?
Lesson 4: Numbers  (Students will be able to identify numbers 1-30, state their age and birthday)
Lesson 5:  Likes/dislikes (Students will be able to identify activities and hobbies in Spanish).
Lesson 6:  Likes/ dislikes ( Students will be able to discuss their likes and dislikes with others.)
Lesson 7 Descriptions (Students will be able to describe their personality)
Lesson 8 Descriptions  (Students will be able to describe what they look like)
Lesson 9 Places  (Students will be able to identify places around their community 
Lesson 10 Review & Reinforce

Language of Instruction: The class is primarily taught in Spanish. English is used for activity clarification and explanation.
