Students will delve into the captivating world of astronomy. Each class, they will explore a new aspect of space-related topics. This course is a perfect fit for space enthusiasts who relish expanding their knowledge of astronomy. I will employ photos, brief video clips, and review game quizzes to enhance engagement and facilitate knowledge retention. Each class will primarily consist of a warm up of what students think they know about the topic, a brief lecture/discussion, and a fun assessment. The last minutes of class students will look at their warm-up and see what they got right and add in what they learned about the topic.

Student questions are actively encouraged. No prior knowledge on the subject is necessary.

Licenciatura desde Shorter College
My first year of teaching in a classroom was 1998. Over the years I've taught science, history, geography, public speaking, math, language arts, health, etc.

25 years later, I'm still a classroom teacher. I've learned a lot about teaching. I even host a teacher podcast/YouTube channel. What has kept me in the profession for so long when others leave? It's the chance to create content and present it in a creative way. Also, I enjoy the interactions with my students.

One of my strengths as a teacher is finding out about my students strengths and challenges. From there, I establish a good rapport with them. My experience has taught me that students will be more likely to learn from you if they like/respect you. I try to make my classes as engaging as possible.

An interesting fact about me is my mother/grandmother were teachers. Also, I play the guitar and hike a lot.
