En este campamento de verano de composición de canciones de 5 días, los estudiantes pasarán los primeros dos días aprendiendo los fundamentos de la composición de canciones y los siguientes 3 días escribiendo sus propias canciones con la opción de colaborar en una canción de clase.

Nivel Beginner - Advanced

In this five day songwriting summer camp, students will learn the fundamentals of songwriting. They will learn how to write their own lyrics and create a melody to make their own song. The goal of the course is to equip the learners with the tools necessary to write a great song, share in the joy of the creative process and start or write at least one song each day in class! Depending on class size and student needs and levels, there is also an option to collaborate each day on a group song.

The curriculum will address the following topics and answer the following questions:

Day 1: What is songwriting? What are the parts of a song? What careers are there in songwriting? What is a title and a hook of a song? What is subject and theme?

Day 2: What is rhythm and what are syllables? What does rhyming/rhyme scheme mean in songwriting? How do you create strong images in your song and why are they important? What does it look like to write focused lyrics? 

Day 3: Students will brainstorm individual song topics and share with the class. The class will choose a topic and write a song together.

Day 4: After brainstorming for a new subject, students will write their own verse, chorus and bridge.

Day 5: Learners will have the opportunity to perform an original song for the class. 

I will teach by utilizing interactive screen-sharing, class discussions and break out rooms.

I am passionate about each learner leaving the class with a song that they are both proud of and eager to share with others.
