Tarea
1-2 horas por semana. Each week learners will receive three to five assignments that will be found in the Outschool classroom. The assignments include readings and activities. Activities include fill-in-the-blank, writing open-response questions, drawing, and many others. Students will also complete three projects during the class. Each project will be centered around one of the topics we are learning about, and students will have a variety of choices that match their interests.

This Social Studies course is based on American History.  Students will learn the history of the United States as it becomes a modern nation.

This class will include multiple viewpoints while discussing and learning about historical events and people.

Each week, the students will receive assignments in the Outschool Classroom.  The packet will include readings and assignments.  

The live class will focus on exploring the theme for the week using interactive slides, storytelling, and lots of discussions.  I also like to include a game some weeks during this class to keep the students engaged.  Students will also complete three projects throughout the semester.  Each project will be centered around one of the topics we are learning about and students will have a variety of choices to choose from that matches their interests.  Examples of projects include:  making a short film, developing a virtual presentation, writing an essay, creating a game, conducting a family interview, creating a fashion review, creating a pamphlet, and many more.

Week Ten: World War II - Europe
Week Eleven: World War II - Pacific
Week Twelve: The War Effort at Home
Week Thirteen: The 1950s
Week Fourteen: The Cold War
Week Fifteen: The Vietnam War
Week Sixteen: The Civil Rights Movement

Live classes and assignments will include information about various historical events and subjects that can be sensitive in nature. All discussions and assignments will be kept at an age-appropriate manner.
