Experiencia de clase

**This class has no end date. I circle back on topics after 48-50 weeks. I NEVER repeat lessons rather find new and fun ways to teach topics again, and add topics to the list as I see fit. This keeps things fresh and enjoyable for your learner to stay in the class FOREVER :).

If you are wondering when to start this class my suggestion is NOW, or whenever. You will not be behind or lost. I promise. (scroll to see topics)

If you are looking for a class that is engaging, fun, and boosts your learner’s confidence you have come to the right place. Social Skills and Character Building for 7-9-year-olds is a class that will introduce your learner(s) to important topics that will help them continue to grow in their “awesome”.

**I also teach this class for 4-6 year olds (https://outschool.com/classes/social-skills-and-character-building-learn-laugh-and-grow-CSyKbsH0?usid=VbdChdTp&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link)

Here is the breakdown:

🚀 The first 10
All the students take turns sharing anything they feel excited about or proud of. This part of the class is very intentional for the development of your child, it’s not just a “show and tell”. During this time students learn to speak confidently in front of their peers, practice listening to others, patience, and taking turns.

🌱 Let’s learn something new
Each week we will discuss a new topic connected to character-building, social skills, or social-emotional learning. During this time I will explain the topic for the week using fun slides and different situations with my “character friends”. Problem-solving, communication skills, assertiveness, empathy, and curiosity among many other skills are often modeled throughout this part of the class. Students will put their learning to practice after discussing the new topic.

After each class, I post a summary of what was taught in the classroom so that grown-ups can continue to support their learner’s understanding of the topic. I also give an optional weekly writing prompt and most weeks there are extension activities mainly in the form of worksheets. These activities are optional, but I LOVE when your learner(s) share them with me.

Throughout my experience working with children, I have found ways to break down hard and important topics and teach them in a way that “sticks”. You can scroll below for the list of different topics taught and their dates (I only have dates for the next 4 weeks at a time as I like to allow myself creative freedom to take more time on a current topic or add something new). I have taught all of the topics below and constantly am finding ways to improve delivery and my approach. If you have a topic you would like to see added to the list please reach out.

I hope to see your learner in class!
