During this multi-day class, we will be working on social skills that we can practice in a safe space and put to use in every day life. Each week will have a chance to learn and practice, and give the students a chance to interact and make friends with one another.

Teaching these social and life skills is one of my big passions. I look forward to student and teacher interaction and discussion in our live weekly classes. For each week, we will have a topic to discussion, and we will have a few minutes of introduction to the topic, discussion of the topic, and then practice of some of the tips/techniques related to the topic (for most of these sessions, group discussion is the practice). Any activities/resources needed for each class will be provided by the teacher.

These topics will build on each other week after week:

Week 1: Self-Introduction, meeting, and getting to know others
Week 2: Continuing to make friends - getting to know others
Week 3: Things we have in common: values, beliefs, likes, and dislikes
Week 4: What is Assertiveness? - Being able to respectfully to say what you mean and how you feel.
Week 5: What we have to offer others: self-confidence/self-esteem lesson 1
Week 6: self-confidence/self-esteem lesson 2
Week 7: Problem solving with others
