In this class we will explore understanding how other people feel and see things. This is a difficult concept for students with social thinking needs. In this class students will learn to predict what other people are thinking and feeling by using facial expressions and body language cues. They will participate by sharing their ideas with other students as the instructor gives verbal direction and explanations. The teacher provides pictures, videos, games.and relevant questions. The class is fun and informative, and students get to practice what they learn through the activities listed earlier. The age range is closer that the original Social Skills: Making Conversation, Making Friends, with 10 to 13 year old students for age appropriate materials and activities. Students need not have taken the first class to be able to participate in this one as the material stands alone. However, it is recommended.

Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding that they have thoughts about others, and others have thoughts about them.
Students will be able to state what they are thinking and make a smart guess regarding the thoughts of others about them.
Students will be able to state what they think about themselves and realize others have thoughts about them.
Students will be able to recognize that behavior is regulated by their own thoughts and the thoughts of others.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
This instructor is a specialist in autism, and has worked with students with social thinking skill deficits for 32 years. Ms. Debbi has a granddaughter with autism from whom she has learned so much. She has had extensive training in Social Learning Theoroy based on Michelle Garcia Winner's work. In addition, she has been trained directly by Dr. Ruth Aspy, who is the co-creator of the Ziggurat Model, and an international speaker and trainer.
