In this class we will be learning to skip count forwards and backwards! We will review the concept of skip counting, and practice skip counting forwards by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s as a group. We will then practice skip counting backwards as a group. We will play a group game to practice the concept of skip counting, and then the students will each have a turn to try skip counting on their own. We will end each class by counting backwards from 10-1 and shouting BLAST OFF! We will use a counting chart as visual cues during the first class, and gradually decrease our use of the chart. By the final class the students will try counting without visual cues.
