Hora de cantar con la maestra Jamie - Temporada de invierno - FLEX

Does your child love to sing? If so, this class if for them! In this Flex singing class, we will learn a new song each week. Flex classes will be delivered to students through a private YouTube video link. Students will interact with the teacher and the other students by answering questions about the weeks topic, and making videos sharing what they have learned about singing. Students can share videos of themselves singing the songs we learn in class. There are no live meetings of this class. 

In this class, we will be learning classic folk songs, ballads, silly songs, camp songs as well as songs about the season of winter. This class is meant for students who love to sing and want to learn more about singing, but aren't interested in individualized coaching. 

While we work on each song, we will focus on one or two singing techniques to help students become more aware of their voice. We will focus on posture, breath, mouth shape, diction, and resonance.  We will also learn musical terms like dynamics, tempo, pitch, and rhythm as we practice the songs. Students will learn songs through singing with the teacher, actions, pictures, and lyrics on the screen.

The focus of this class is to encourage a love of singing and a deeper understanding of singing technique. This class will help a hesitant singer gain confidence.  Singing for fun with support from friends and a teacher will help your child's confidence to grow until they are more confident in their ability to sing out! 
Each video will follow this outline:
1. Greetings and welcome song.
2. Technique spotlight- Warmup
3. New song(s) as listed in the class schedule.

Week 8: Don Gato
Week 9: Mama Paquita
Week 10: Colors All Around
