Experiencia de clase

In this one-time group singing class students will be introduced to how to use their voices to make music in a fun, healthy and effective way. Using visuals and songs from the beloved Disney movie “Frozen", this curriculum is interactive and engages the eyes, ears, imagination and voice. Students will learn the difference between their singing and speaking voice as well as proper singing posture. They will also be introduced to the concept of notation through vocal interpretation of abstract notation. The class will use the melody of “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman” to explore these concepts and conclude with a sing-along to the song “Let It Go”. Students should be familiar with these songs prior to class time.

This class is designed as a teaser or introductory class for my “Sing Like a Disney Princess” series, but works great as a stand alone class as well.
Metas de aprendizaje
Student will learn foundational skills of being an effective singer through the fun of Frozen.

Hi there! I'm Ambree: cheese enthusiast, world traveler and recent New York transplant. Even though I have a few fancy academic degrees (Master of Public Diplomacy, USC and a Bachelor's in International Cultural Studies, BYUH), my first and favorite passion is the performing arts. My first love was musical theater and at age 18 I fulfilled a lifelong dream of performing at Walt Disney World. As an adult I discovered a love for film and television and spent several years in LA performing and training with some of the best acting and vocal coaches in the biz.

In addition to my performing credits, I am also an accomplished performance coach. I work with students of all ages, but specialize in working with kids and young adults. My acting students have been seen on many television platforms such as Hallmark Channel, Disney Channel as well as in a wide variety of SAG films, regional and national commercials.

I adore kids and have worked as a teacher in a variety of environments (both in person and online) and on a variety of subjects for more than 10 years. I am so excited to be combining all of my passions as a teacher on OutSchool. My philosophy is that a teacher (especially in the performing arts) should encourage all students to feel safe and empowered to be themselves and tailor the material to their own interests and personalities. I aim to create curriculums that are accessible, age appropriate and engage the eyes and ears as well as the heart and mind.
