In this fun interactive one-time class your child will have the opportunity to share their favorite toy car or truck with the group and feel special while others are curious and interested in your child's item. The learners will take turns showing their toy and telling us something about it. The teacher will lead into natural conversations with questions like: Why do you like this object? When did you get it? Who gave it to you? Is there a story behind it? Would you like to share the story. Your child will have the opportunity to ask other children in the group about their toy if they would like and through open discussion your child will practice listening skills, speaking, turn taking, asking questions and taking that first step in building confidence. Show-and-tell is an excellent way for children to feel validated as they connect with their classmates. At the end of each lesson your child will be provided with a printable coloring/activity sheet for them to work on after class. We are excited to see what your child has to share! If they enjoy class and want to come again they are welcome to share another favorite truck or car and join us another week! ***Homeschool/Montessori/Preschool/Child Education/Circle Time***

Hello :) My name is Shaya and I am a passionate online teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing who specializes teaching children ages 3 to 13. I have 17 years experience supporting students both in the classroom and in the 1:1 setting focusing mainly on math, reading, and writing. We use science and arts combined with an exploration of concepts to develop a love for learning. I have two children of my own who I have always homeschooled, ages 6 and 9.
I am TESOL, TEO and TEFL certified. I have been teaching children online for the past 8 years. In all my teaching settings we work on meeting developmental milestones, concepts and skills through interactive circle time, morning meeting groups or show and tell sharing. I include topics such as sight words, phonics, fluency, letters, writing stories, creativity, and more. In my classes we use an all accepting, discussion based approach where every child feels welcome and important. I am committed to guiding learners in a warm and welcoming environment where they enjoy learning and want to come back.
In my free time you can find me playing outdoors with my kids or taking people on tours through the animal sanctuary I volunteer at - I love animals!
