SUMMER STUDENTS MEET FOUR DAYS IN A ROW PER WEEK. Students will learn economics, math, and science by investigating how much a pet costs. Students will figure out some interesting eye-opening calculations to owning a pet by online shopping at stores like Petco, PetSmart, Chewy, and Walmart. Students who enroll in this class will use addition, subtraction, and simple multiplication. A calculator is permitted if the child is not proficient in these math skills. Students will learn to use a Venn diagram to do some comparative shopping. Through YouTube videos, they will learn vocabulary words: economics, supply, surplus, deflation, and inflation. *Please note that I prefer students to keep their videos open while in my classroom and keep chatting to a minimum. PARENTS, PLEASE DO NOT SPEAK IF YOU ARE IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE CHILD AS WE CAN HEAR ALL CONVERSATIONS IN THE BACKGROUND EVEN WHISPERS.

I have taught Pet Camps for over 20 years. I feel children are unaware of their care and what is the cost to keep a pet happy and healthy. I know that many children after taking this course have a new understanding of how to financially support a pet. This in turn will eventually help them also to know what it takes to support themselves in their futures.
