Everything is done individually. No need to rely on classmates. There are concept assignments that are optional but encouraged. If you are not completely sure of them or it's been a long time, do them. ONE REQUIREMENT: If I message you in the classroom and ask for a response, please do so. Each week, I will check in. If I get no response from students, I will not send the next week's material until I do.

Need PSAT/SAT test prep tutoring to learn digital Reading, Writing, and Math but can't do an SAT live class for whatever reason? A Self-Paced SAT/PSAT class allows you to learn key concepts with real SAT question walkthroughs, tips, shortcuts, and how to approach the SAT in general.

Self-Paced means NO LIVE CLASSES.

In this description, I will talk about:
COST AND WHAT YOU GET
TRAINING
WHAT TO EXPECT
CLASS STRUCTURE OF THE THREE WEEKS

COST AND WHAT YOU GET
-Private tutoring can cost triple the cost of this course per hour.
-It takes a great amount of discipline and prep work to be successful for this test. It is difficult on your own, and there are many insights into the test you don't know about, and the College Board does not tell you. I can keep you organized and tell you everything you need to know.
-You will get more question walkthroughs than you would if you spent an equivalent amount of time in a live class with over 60 questions, plus personally designed notes, practice, and assignments that help you understand and remember what you need to know.
-Extra SAT questions in the notes to give you more practice in the concepts and rules taught in class.
-Bonus information
-Additional resources such as additional videos you can watch from another perspective or to learn more about a concept to gain a deeper understanding of it.
* I have unique knowledge and experience of this test, training for this test, and a bachelor's degree. Most teachers do not have this knowledge and are only teaching subject matter.

TRAINING:
I have extensive experience in this field, having trained under someone who studied the test for years. I knew the paper version, and I know the digital version, and I keep updated on all changes and new practice tests. This is a unique test.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
1. My new presentation format allows you to attempt the questions yourself before I provide a complete walkthrough. I can underline and highlight key sections of the passages and work out math problems as you watch.

2. I use a conversational teaching style that is easy to follow, and I provide notes and additional resources to support your learning. My goal is to ensure you have the best possible chance to succeed.

3. This Self-Paced class will focus on Part 1. More will be coming because it just isn't possible to cover everything in one course unless it's continuous. This class covers three weeks, althought it has so much content, it may take you longer to complete.

4. Even if you only take this one, you will have a lot of information that will help increase your score and succeed.

5. I am available if you need to ask anything. I am also willing to set up a 10-minute session if there is something you don't understand and can't figure out with what you've got.

In addition to above:

STRUCTURE

Day 1: I provide a link with an outline and everything for the first week. Each week, you receive another outline for that week. I do check on you at least once a week to ask if you need any additiotional help.

The outline contains links to the presentational walkthroughs. These walkthroughs will be in great detail and cover everything you need to know about the question. I do provide a moment where the student can pause the presentation to answer the question on their own before seeing what I have to say about it. Watch them as many times a you need.

Each question type will have notes and practice accompanying it with additional SAT questions.

Each week will have walkthroughs on Conventions of Standard English (this is grammar, punctuation), Reading Comprehension, and Math

You may think you are good in a subject, but you really don't know. These are so different from what you expect or have learned up to this point.

Structure:
Week 1:

 1. CONVENTIONS OF STANDARD ENGLISH:
* Overview and how grammar/punctuation questions work.
* What is an answer structure, and why should you care?
* I will teach two of the most used types of questions on the test. I call these the IC structure and the NON-IC structure.

*IC- stands for independent clause (a full sentence) These are questions you can learn to answer by reading the answer choices alone. You will be certain every time you are correct.
*NON-IC- They look very much like the IC, but ask about other things. We can often still answer these without reading the passage or at the very least, eliminate answers.

This will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 12 questions related to these two structures. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

2. Reading Comprehension
*Overview and the unique way to approach these questions.
*Two question types for this week

Accomplish Goal- "Which choice most effectively uses the relevant information from the notes to accomplish this goal?" There are bullets that accompany every question and you never need to read these to answer them. Saves a lot of time.

Vocabulary- "Which choice completes the text with the most logical and precise word or phrase?" Learn how to pick the correct word choice by finding the proof in the passage and using it to help you even when you don't know the meaning of the word.

BONUS: Receive a list of all vocabulary words available from the first 4 practice tests. This will be updated when new tests are released.

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 8 questions related to these 2 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

3. MATH- There are many questions on the test related in some way to the graphing of linear equations or functions. This week will cover linear equations and functions with lines related to them, slope-intercept form, X-Y plane, graphing, Y intercepts, and scatterplots. All questions will be related to these things.

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 10 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

 Week 2:
1. CONVENTIONS- Verbs-Verbs are a big deal on the test. There are three main concepts we need to go over with verbs. The third will be next week.
*Verbs based on Subject/Verb Agreement - This has an amazing shortcut. You won't need to read the passage to get these correct.
*Verbs based on Verb Tense - Use this system to find your answer. If you base your answer on sound, you will miss a lot of questions.

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 8 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

2. READING COMPREHENSION-
*Graphs based on Reading Comprehension- "Which choice most effectively uses data from the graph to complete the example?" Not just about reading a graph.
*Underlined text - "Which choice best describes the function of the underlined sentence in the text as a while?"

BONUS: PAPER ABOUT HOW TO RECOGNIZE WRONG ANSWERS

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 8 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

3. MATH-
*Systems of Equations- These are a big deal on the test. To do them the long way you learned in school is NOT efficient and will cost a lot of time. There are great shortcuts to make them easier and faster.

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 8 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

Week 3:
1. CONVENTION-The other verbs. Another type of verb that can be very complicated.
*Finite/Non-Finite Verbs-How to recognize them from the previous verbs and how to deal with them in the easiest way possible.

*Dangling Modifiers- Do you even know what that is? There is a system for doing these for sure.

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 8 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

2. READING COMPREHENSION-
*Structure- "Which choice best describes the overall structure of the text?"

*Based on the text/According to text- "According to the text, why would a helicopter built for Earth be unable to fly on Mars?"

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 6 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

3. MATH-Geometry-There is a lot of this possibly on the test. The stuff covered is not terribly difficult to learn, but you need to know what parts to learn so you can understand it. And there are different ways the questions are asked.
*triangles
*straight lines angles
*squares

There will be full walkthroughs and explanations of 12 questions. Notes and practice will accompany this to provide more understanding.

Metas de aprendizaje

These questions are unique to this test, but the concepts will help you in your other English and Math classes. Given time and commitment and adhering to my recommendations, you can ace this test.

Most third party tools are on the approved list. Study.com is the only one not, and if I use it, it will be a video related to a concept and the video will be assigned by me and you will not be able to access anything but the video. Canva will be used for instruction per video link. It may ask you to make a free account but may not just to view videos. Other places are for video and ways of practice
Lista de útiles escolares
A notebook to write notes in. You will want to print out the assignments. You may want a calculator for some math.

I have a bachelor degree and lots of experience in teaching. I trained for the PSAT/SAT and learned all about the test under an expert who studied the test for many years and thoughout all the changes. Many teachers who teach test prep only have knowledge of subject skills and even some of the so-called experts on YouTube that charge way up there for courses have some of their content wrong.
