During this course, students learn a variety of drawing and coloring methods using pencil, crayons, colored pencils, and color markers. Children have fun with Rozine's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design. The subject of this drawing class is spring flowers! Rozine will show students step-by-step, how to draw a ribbon sash with simple wording, "I love you" or "mom". A variety of flowers and leaf shapes will be added. The composition will be completed with a variety of floral designs. Rozine will share shading and texturing techniques for crayons and colored pencils. She will also demonstrate how to color neatly and solidly with markers. Students may use whichever coloring utensils they are most comfortable with. Paint is acceptable, but will not be taught during this session. Upon parent approval, students complete their piece by outlining everything with Sharpie markers. If Sharpie markers are not available, regular black markers, crayons, or colored pencils can be used. Students thrive in a creative environment where they are encouraged to develop their imagination and artistic expression. Artists are expected to complete their coloring outside of class time. Research shows there is a significant connection between arts and achievement. Drawing and coloring develops many talents, such as: • fine motor skills • spatial reasoning • objectivity • visualization • self-discipline • creative problem-solving
