Nivel de inglés - B1
Grado de EE. UU. 3 - 6
This one-time class is meant to give students a quick science vocabulary boost. We will explore five important words in the world of science and nature. These words may be completely new or they may be familiar, yet their meanings may be unclear. We will clarify definitions so students can understand and use these words with confidence. Students will see related words and video and photo examples. To help aid the process of incorporating new words into students' permanent vocabulary, we will interact with the words as much as possible during class. We will write the words along with a short definition, we will use the words in sentences, and we will play a simple game that uses the information that we learned. Students should feel free to contribute what they know and ask questions. Students are encouraged to wow family and friends by using the new words outside of class. The more often a word is used, the more likely it is to stay put in one's vocabulary! The words we will explore in this lesson: hypothesis organism microorganism ecosystem herbivore I am a patient and easy-going teacher who likes to ask students questions and encourage discussion. Hello! Thank you for stopping by! I love students of all ages and I love teaching a variety of topics. Some of my favorite classes to teach are reading, nature, and science. I try to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere so learners feel comfortable in participating. I want students to have fun while learning!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, a Minnesota teaching license, and a 160 hour TEFL certification.
I have been teaching and guiding children since 2000 as a preschool/childcare provider, an ELA teacher in public school classrooms, and an ESL teacher in online classrooms.
I love teaching, but I also love being a student! I take as many classes as possible on whatever subject piques my interest. Teaching and learning are my life!
When my three daughters are home from college we love going for hikes, cooking together, and of course, snuggling our two funny cats, Pumpkin and Marigold.
I hope to see your learner in class!
