Join a dynamic and interactive online class designed to enhance your reading and writing skills for the SAT and ACT exams! This ongoing class focuses on empowering students with the essential tools and strategies needed to excel in these crucial sections.

Each class begins with practice questions designed after the questions found on the PSAT/SAT/ACT. We will work through several words in context, transition word, and grammar questions. The next portion of class will continue with a short grammar lesson - targeted to topics assessed on the tests. Finally, we will focus on a comprehensive vocabulary segment, where you'll not only learn the meanings of key words but also understand how they are specifically used in the context of these tests. The teaching methods ensure a deep understanding of vocabulary commonly featured on the SAT and ACT.

By targeting 5-8 vocabulary words per week, transition words, root words, and tackling commonly misused phrases, we'll sharpen your language proficiency and boost your overall performance.

Through targeted practice exercises modeled after SAT and ACT question styles, you'll gain familiarity and confidence in tackling challenging test questions. We will end the class by doing some practice questions together.

In 2016, the SAT underwent a significant redesign, and our class curriculum reflects these changes. We move away from memorizing obscure words and instead focus on contextual vocabulary within the reading and writing sections. By aligning our instruction with the latest SAT format, we equip you with the most effective strategies for success. Starting spring 2024, the SAT will be all digital. The new digital test has some changes to the Reading and Writing section, but the grammar and words in context questions are similar to the old test.

Not only will this class provide you with valuable skills for the SAT and ACT, but it also nurtures fundamental abilities that are highly valuable for higher education. Strengthening your vocabulary, critical thinking, and reading comprehension skills will set you up for success in all academic pursuits.

Each week, you can expect an engaging class that covers new vocabulary, commonly misused words and phrases, and practice questions. Additionally, we provide a Quizlet set for each class, enabling you to practice the words at home throughout the week. I provide notes from the week as well: an study guide of the grammar topic, a list of the root words, and the main vocab words with definitions and examples sentences.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to elevate your performance on the SAT and ACT! Enroll today and take advantage of our sibling discount for this class. Prepare for exam success while honing your language skills in a supportive online learning environment.

Note: The class repeats the same material throughout the week. New lessons start on Monday.

I have more than two years of unique lessons for this class before the material repeats.

I also offer an SAT Reading Comprehension class and an SAT Reading and Writing Bootcamp class. Private tutoring is available upon request.
