Welcome to Salem! In this highly-engaging history-based Among Us themed escape room, students will be split into teams to investigate major theories into how and why the Salem Witchcraft Trials took place. They must provide sufficient evidence in order to avoid being voted off by the Imposter! This is a great way to engage students, and work on their research skills and reading comprehension! This activity includes several engaging tasks to study and learn about the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, while team building. This escape room can be done with students working individually or with teams. Activities include puzzles, reading comprehension, short answer questions, engaging logic puzzles, and an open-ended discussion based on primary sources and historical investigation. Teams will earn points to avoid being flagged by the Imposter! The top team earns a round immunity, while other teams are at risk of votes.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I have a B.A. in History and an M.A. in World History, as well as an M.A. in Globalization Studies. I have always had a passion for research and World History, and feel that this course will provide a fun introduction into that world using a CSI themed approach to history! I worked as a teaching assistant for two years during my M.A. in early American history and Peace Studies, including the original 13 colonies, the role of women in the colonies, and early American slavery, including the Underground Railroad, into Canada. The course used historical fiction and primary sources heavily to engage students into the world of the Colonial period, and this course is designed with a similar approach using the Crucible! However, no previous reading is required for this experience!
