Experiencia de clase

This is a play in 3 Acts. "12 Angry Men" focuses on a jury's deliberations in a capital murder case. A 12-man jury is sent to begin deliberations in the first-degree murder trial of an 18-year old boy accused in the stabbing death of his father, where a guilty verdict means an automatic death sentence.

Students will read and discuss the play as the teacher highlights literary devices, plot points, and character development.

In our first session we will cover Act 1. We will focus on the introduction of the characters, and discuss exposition. We will discuss what we have read, and make predictions about what will occur in Act 2.

In our second session we will cover Act 2, discuss character development and stage direction. We will see if our predictions from the previous week were correct, and make predictions about the next Act.

In our Third Session we will cover Act 3. We will discuss the falling action and resolution of the play. We will see if the characters were dynamic or static, and examine what would make a character change their stance.

Students will understand and be engaged through performing this material. While a PDF of the play will be provided, it is recommended that the learner purchases a copy of this play for notetaking and annotations.
