1 hora por semana. Student will be offered assignments as practice.
Evaluación
An assessment will be given in the first class and at the 10th session. These assessments will guide us in developing writing goals for our students. The assessment will allow us to see the growth between session 1 writing and session 10 writing. I do NOT complete a one time assessment to determine your child's grade level ability. One assessment does not reveal enough information about their skills. It does, however give us a great starting point to guide future writings.

🍎 Students will be assessed and parents will complete a Parent Questionarre to determine the specific need of the student.  Personal goals will be established and 1 on 1 tutoring will commence to focus on meeting these individual goals for each student.

 👧 This course will focus on writing skills. 
We always start with an assessment in this course.  We then move onto establish specific goals for the learner. By session 10 we will complete another assessment to ensure that we are seeing optimal growth. 
At this time we are able to develop new goals and objective for the student or add them to a course in which they can continue to stregthen their writing.

 ❤️ Students will be gently guided to new skills of reading and writing.
  
🌟  Individual Tutoring Sessions are geared toward individual students.  We use developmentally appropriate techniques and guides to move students towards their goals.   At time we review presentations, practice writing, play games, or reinforce skills through quizzes.  

🎈 🎈 Student will start developing their skills in one style of writing.  So before we begin the first session, Students will choose from one of the following; 

 ✍️ Descriptive Writing 
Descriptive writing is a type of writing that aims to create a vivid and detailed picture of a person, place, object, event, or experience for the reader. Its primary purpose is to evoke sensory experiences and emotions by using descriptive language, imagery, and sensory details. Descriptive writing appeals to the reader's senses, imagination, and emotions, allowing them to visualize and connect with the subject being described on a deeper level.
 
✍️ Pursuasive Writing
Persuasive writing aims to convince or persuade readers to adopt a particular viewpoint, take action, or change their beliefs or behaviors. It utilizes persuasive techniques, rhetorical devices, and logical arguments to appeal to emotions and reason.

✍️ Narrative Writing
Narrative writing involves telling a story or recounting events. It often includes characters, settings, plots, and themes. Examples of narrative writing include short stories, novels, memoirs, and anecdotes.

✍️ Expository Writing
Expository writing aims to inform, explain, or describe a topic in a clear and logical manner. It can include essays, reports, articles, and instructional texts. Expository writing presents facts, analyses, and arguments without personal opinions.

✍️ Technical Writing 
Technical writing communicates complex information, instructions, or procedures in a clear and concise manner. It is often used in manuals, technical reports, guides, and scientific papers. Technical writing aims to convey information accurately and effectively to a specific audience.

✍️ Creative Writing
Creative writing encompasses various forms of imaginative expression, such as poetry, fiction, drama, screenplays, and creative nonfiction. It encourages originality, creativity, and artistic expression through language and storytelling techniques.

 🍏 Students will be asked to complete a questionarre prior to the first class.  This will allow us to better meet the needs of the writer.  
🍎 🍏 🍎 🍏 Sessions are 30 minutes long which allow for time to work together on writing.  I do offer extended sessions to some students who need that extra push but students must be assessed first in this course.  If you are interested in extended sessions, feel free to comment on the first questionarre.  

😃 Homework will be offered as practice.  Occasionally it is in the form of a simple Prompt but occasionally digital worksheets will be placed in the classroom with an assignment.
Metas de aprendizaje
This is a Tutoring session for Middle School 5th Grade through 8th grade students in Writing.  Individual Student goals will be defined based in a given Assessment and Parent Questionarre that I'd completed.  
Students will learn;  The class goals are based on specific needs and interest of the students.  Through Individualized support and practice, students will improve their reading and writing skills.

These are just a few examples of very basic goals that we might use in each of our writings tpyes. More defined and specific goals will be added for each student.  We use rubrics to guide our writing. Student are taught how to read them, how to plug in and add there own goals to their rubrics, and how to develop their writing even after our sessions are complete. 
*Junior high students will develop audience awareness, adapting their writing style and content to effectively communicate with specific readers.
*They will also refine their use of punctuation, including commas, periods, and apostrophes, to enhance the clarity and readability of their writing.

* I am a Home School Mom.  
* I am a Curriculum Writer.
* I have previously served as a Parent Educator for Children Birth through 3 years old.

I teach Classes and Tutoring 1 on 1.

I am a Middle School English Language Art Teacher.  I teach reading, writing, speaking, socratic (discussion) circles, book club, and more.
 
I teach ESL Students of varying abilities whether they are new with the language or more advanced.

   I am a firm believer that the right Learning Environment will Accelerate your childs Foundations.  I am dedicated to establishing that environment for your learners. 
I teach students age 9-14.  Writing is one of the most used forms of cummunication.  Being a good writer will assist students in going far in life.  My hope is develop not only knowledge and skills in reading and writing, and to be able to fill in the gaps where they struggle, but I also wish to get them excited about writing.

   Fun Facts: I am a Published author and write children's books set in Louisiana.
