The Black Sci-Fi and Fantasy courses will introduce students to Black sci-fi and fantasy literary works and explore the construction of modern and future worlds from the perspective of global black experiences. The “Akata Witch" course will delve deep into the themes of identity, belonging, magical realism, and Nigerian culture. The goal is for students to enhance their critical thinking and literary analysis skills while exploring significant themes and narratives. Students will also learn the basics of essay writing through short essays assigned for homework.
