1 hora por semana. Players should come to the first class with a LEVEL 2 character created on D&D Beyond. Players will receive information on how to join the campaign on D&D Beyond upon enrolling in the class. I will be screen-sharing Roll20 while we play, but students under 13 should not create an account on Roll20 as it is not an approved resource from Outschool. Parental consent is required for these resources.Experiencia de clase
This class is a multi-day Dungeons & Dragons campaign where we play Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. It will use the 5th Edition rules and will incorporate situations that require critical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, communication, role-playing, and imagination. Ideally, the student should read and explore the player's handbook of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition before the first class. Newer players (students new to D&D) are welcome and will be guided and advised as needed. Resources and references will be provided as needed, to facilitate a better understanding of the rules and game mechanics. We are a community-driven class, which means that we care about our friendships and community over all else. This is a safe space for players to explore their identities and play whatever kind of character they would like to as long as they are supportive of other players, characters, and our community (and the character fits the guidelines below). This adventure will take the players from 2nd level to 20th level, depending on how long they participate in the campaign. We will use dndbeyond.com for creating and tracking characters and refer to it during sessions, as needed. You may also use paper character sheets if you wish. The Dungeon Master will use the Roll20.net virtual tabletop to run the game. Players will each get a custom token to represent their character and will need to have a free Roll20 account. This tool is very easy to use as a player and greatly enhances the experience. The adventure will involve this rough outline. It is intentionally vague, so as to not give away the story or potential progression and also reflects the fact that the players will have a large part in dictating where the adventure goes. This outline is only intended to show the start of our adventure and to give you a rough idea of what the sessions are like. ⇢ First Class: Meet & Greet and story Intro/The players will meet one another and have the opportunity to discuss their character, preferred playstyle, and goals going forward. We will introduce the story and background of the adventure and if time permits, start the first quest. ⇢ Second Class: Based on the choices of the group, the next step will be to start choosing a direction to take the adventurers. Once the decision is made, the story will start to unfold, based on the decisions of the adventurers. ⇢ Third Class: Each week will follow a similar format. The session will be directly influenced and guided by the group from the previous week. ⇢ Fourth Class: The group will likely face a larger challenge every 4 weeks or so. The larger story points will unravel as the group puts together clues, speaks with supporting characters (NPCs) in the story, and takes appropriate actions. Half a million gold coins are hidden somewhere in Waterdeep. Many individuals know about the cache and are looking for it. Adventurers can join the hunt and prevent the cache from falling into evil hands. The city is threatened by escalating tension between two power groups that is on the verge of flaring into violence. The Zhentarim, a shadowy network of mercenaries, and Xanathar, the beholder crime lord of Waterdeep, are at odds, and when they clash, the characters are pulled into the conflict. ***PLEASE READ*** Guidelines: All sources are acceptable for character creation, as long as it is published D&D material. Playtest sources will be considered on a case by case basis and require approval. All characters must use the Point Buy method for Ability Score Generation. The Character should start at 2nd level. Feats and Multiclassing are allowed but must follow requirements. No Homebrew material outside of my own is allowed unless reviewed and cleared before the game. This class is LGBT-friendly and a safe space for players to explore their identities. Racism, sexism, and bigotry will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Players will receive a warning about their behavior, and parents will be contacted on the first offense. Further offenses will result in action up to and including the removal of the player from class without a refund. Our community and our friendship is the most important part of the class. "It's not me, it's my character" is not acceptable in this case, and the player should look for campaigns where the community is not the focus. There are many.

At times the adventure might get scary; we will be fighting evil and saving the day. The city of Waterdeep is a fictional place, but it has lots of elements that our cities have here on Earth. There are crime and violence, however, there is also the opportunity to do the right thing, make good choices, and develop a character that the player is proud of. Roleplay can be a powerful tool for exploring what it feels like to make different choices which can better develop the consciousness of the player. Content will range along the spectrum of PG. The more graphic elements will not be emphasized in this campaign world.
Lista de útiles escolares

I have been playing D&D since I was 12 years old. It has been a huge part of my growth, development, and entertainment. I'm a skilled, roleplayer, narrator, and storyteller. I have a very patient and enthusiastic nature and make the class as welcoming and comfortable as possible.
I teach dramatic writing and creative writing in a public high school. Crafting stories for people to enjoy is part of my joy. I am currently in two campaigns as a player, and I am excited to DM here on Outschool!
