Experiencia de clase

This is a public speaking class for singers to build confidence in public speaking! Students will be:

Exploring & Communicating how singing improves their life
Crafting and creating their own speech for public speaking

Types of Speaking Supported:
Discussion, Impromptu, Prepared Speech, Interaction, Storytelling
*Powerpoint used to help during discussion. 

Goal:
To help children build 1) self-confidence 2) communication skills.

Prior Experience:
There is no prior experience required for this class. ESL Learners who can speak comfortably are welcome- CEFR B1, B2, C1 C2.

Supplies:
Optional: sing a 30 second sample (your favorite song, a vocal technique, etc (any language welcome) *Please check Parental Guidance for appropriate sharing guidelines. 
Worksheets provided: print and bring to class
Highly recommended writing activity before class to think & prepare for class content

After Class Speech Submission:
After class, you are welcome to finish your speech/story at home, and submit it to the teacher for feedback. You are welcome to submit it a 2nd time when using it in the future (any time), to make sure you’re good to go!

Learners are welcome to sing any song, as long as it is heartfelt! Once they have found a song they love, please make sure that it follows this Outschool's guidelines: Please make sure that the song: - is secular by nature - does not contain any specific language, violent or sexual content. (even if your learner chooses to sing an excerpt that does not contain specific language, they will share the name of the song in class- this means it's possible that other children will look up and listen to this song outside of class. I started singing lessons when I was a child, maybe 4 or 5. I remember my Dad (who loved music so much but perhaps never had the opportunity to learn), bought an instrument home one day and started pretending to play- laughing, joking, and being extremely silly because he knew we were watching. He wanted to share his love of music, and to show us perhaps that anybody could do anything. My Dad is one of the reasons I sing and teach public speaking today. 

Throughout my life, I have often felt that my art or speech wasn't good enough. I am reminded by my father's sheer joy and love for something- and how that joy is reason enough to do anything. The confidence that I've built in my voice and self-expression profoundly changed my life and is my greatest honor to share with students today. 

I've had the great blessing of working with kids for the last 10 years and teaching online for the last 7. I have a double Bachelor's in Psychology and Language Studies and a 120 hour TESOl certification. I've completed over 7,500 online classes in communication and confidence to children of all ages, and awarded "Most Beloved Teacher" in the ESL industry.  It's an honor to meet and serve you and your family.
