Private Violin lessons will focus on teaching students basic violin skills and techniques! Students will work with pizzicato (plucking) and arco (bow) playing styles and learn several different notes and their fingerings in order to perform different pieces of music. We will primarily use the Suzuki Method for Violin with some Essential Elements for Strings sprinkled in. Links/Scans of these resources will be provided to students. Students are expected to have a sized violin at their first lesson. Please message if you are unsure about sizing.

Note: The timeline below does not apply to current students moving from Group Lessons to Private Lessons. We will continue on from where we left off in our last lesson. 

Week 1: Parts of the Violin, how to properly hold the violin, and Pizzicato Position
Week 2: Pizzicato Playing and Violin String Names (Ant Song)
Week 3: Left hand position and pressing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finger down on the E string and their note names
Week 4: Review: Left hand position, fingers on the E String. New: Fingers and Note Names on the A string.
